Set target, goal achieved

Target setting is important for all businesses and individuals because it gives the direction of efforts and resources are to be used to get things achieved.

Fact of life is – Things not measured will never be achieved.

For SME businesses, the team size is relatively smaller, there is more flexibility to adjust according to business needs, at the same time, each resource is critical to business success. There will be limited or even no extra buffer of effort and time, here is my STAR approach with 4 points for you to be a hit-and-run:

4 approaches for business leaders to use in Goal Setting:

1. Specific details.

Know the very details and define what needs to be done, how it should be done, and how it will be measured.

2. Time-defined.

We are all chasing deadlines; the clock is ticking away. Accurately estimating the time required to complete a task or activity is crucial.

3. Address interdependencies.

Understand the relationships between tasks, why those relationships are established, align priorities, and ensure prerequisites are ready.

4. Responsive.

Change often occurs unexpectedly. Take ownership of the goal and promptly respond to and manage challenges with your utmost effort.

Target once set, just go for it managing the process is an achievement while the result is your next start.
